I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show. ~Andrew Wyeth
Writing is like this for me. I have a plot, some characters just the bones of the story. Just the bones are they good bones or not? Only when spring arrives or rather the writing of the book will I know if what is staring at me will blossom into a beautiful bit of prose. OR is it just a weedy tree?
Oh, what a beautiful quote--from a painter, no less!!!
ReplyDeleteOn my current WIP, I am striving to do just as you say--get the bone structure right so everything else will only act as beautiful decor to enhance the novel.
Would love those prayers!!!

You got prayers! Diana
ReplyDeleteI think I have to disagree with half the quote though. I love fall and I love snow, but I get so tired of the short days and cold weather.
ReplyDeleteSo true Sara. I don't like winter at all, but it worked with the writing message. Give me long sunshine filled days and I'm much happier. ;)
ReplyDeleteMissin' you, Diana!!
